  2. Daniel Assoulineis the former chairman and co-founder of Montreal, Canada based payment processing firm, UpClick. A startup in the face of cut throat market competition and an uncertain business environment was lucky to have a leader like him. A leader with experience, charisma, intelligence and ethics, Daniel knew the importance of continuous learning and constantly evolving strategies, which proved to be immensely beneficial for the ecommerce solution provider. A highly uncertain global economic environment, rising competition and increased consumer awareness and expectations has made heading a modern organization an immensely challenging task.

  3. Plans and policies that succeeded in the past may find themselves redundant and unprofitable in the current business environment. A leader as such heading a modern organization must possess the following traits and characteristics to drive the profit and the goodwill of the organization he/she heads.

  4. Customer centric approach In this age of intense competition and globalization, customer is the king in the real sense of the word. Organizations that fail to attract and retain customers are soon going to find themselves out of business. UpClick was immensely successful because customer focus ranked highly in Daniel Assouline’s scheme of things. The experienced leader knew that customers have a lot of choices and they are simply going to shift their loyalty to other organizations if your fail to pay them your undivided attention. An organization in order to gain competitive advantage must pay heightened attention to quality of its products as well as its pre and after sales service.

  6. Good communication skills This is one skill that has been playing an important part since ages in determining how successful or unsuccessful a leader will be. History bears testimony to the fact that highly successful leaders down the ages had highly developed communication skills. Modern leaders as such, would be fooling nobody but themselves if they think that they can succeed without possessing excellent communication skills. A leader may have a solid vision and strategy for his organization but all this will count for nothing in the absence of exceptionally sound communication skills. This is understandable as a leader needs to share his goals and visions with his employees to achieve the overall objective of the organization. Leaders with good communication skills have high chances of succeeding in their endeavor of creating a happy and profitable organization. Good communication skills greatly aid a leader in energizing and motivating his workforce by helping them see the bigger picture and their overall role in completing it. Employees can better understand their individual role and responsibilities and the importance of their contribution in making the organization a market leader.
