Certification Requirements

To coach in Ohio, ensure you meet the certification requirements set by OHSAA and ODE. Key components include BCI/FBI fingerprints, CPR certification, completion of the Pupil Activity Course/First Aid, and the "Fundamentals of Coaching" class. Certifications are valid for varying durations; for instance, CPR is valid for 2 years, while the Fundamentals class lasts a lifetime. Complete necessary paperwork and send it to the appropriate office. Late hires have a grace period, but certifications are mandatory to receive supplemental contracts. Stay updated for compliance.
