Grant Program Update – Initial Applications • All of Section A to be completed by April 15th • Project Description (A1) and Schematics (A10) required. • Project Description includes: • Project start and end date (status). • Completed projects not eligible for grant award. • Identify all project work tasks with %cost for correct project ranking (1.1.1, 1.4.4; 1.4.6, etc.) • Roads, parking lots, landscaping and sidewalk ineligible (unless ADA documented)

  10. Grant Program Update – Safety Projects • All Safety Projects receive FY Funding (1.1.1 to 1.1.7). • Safety sub group 1.1.7 expanded to include nurse call, generators, security, elopement / wanderguard • All safety applications should have state matching funds. • Safety projects >$400,000 submit as separate safety grant application. • Safety projects <$400,000 can be combined with other renovation projects (1.4.4: 1.4.5; 1.4.6)

  11. Grant Program Update – Safety Projects • All Safety project applications require documentation as addressing a threat to life and safety from VA Life Safety Engineer, State or local government agency (e.g. Health Dept., Fire Marshal), an accrediting institution (JCAHO). • Contact local VAMC for review.

  12. ARRA Update • VA close out target date : July 2013 • Complete Section C Checklist prior to final payment • As of February 2013, 8 projects remaining • 5 projects >90% complete. • $150M awarded; $10.4M remaining
