This document presents a detailed analysis of AIRS (Atmospheric Infrared Sounder) retrievals in comparison to the best estimated profiles obtained at the ARM (Atmospheric Radiation Measurement) Cart Site. Using examples with specific SR values, we highlight the unique capabilities of hyperspectral infrared observations in capturing vertical structures and fine-scale features in the atmosphere. The study also includes cloud-clearing techniques using MODIS and ABI/HES data, demonstrating their effectiveness in enhancing retrievals in cloudy conditions.
