  17. REVISION AND REVISION MYTHS • Revision is not something you plan – it just happens by magic! • Revision only should start at the end – like in March or so!!! • Revision is just learning content! • Revision is just rote learning questions and answers! • Revision is only doing past paper after past paper! • It’s too early to start revising – the exams are ages away!!! • Doing revision on the morning of the exam and I’ll be fine • I don’t need that subject anyway! • I don’t know how to revise! 20. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR STUDENTS • We expect our students to take pride in our uniform • We expect all our students to work hard – but enjoy and achieve • We expect all of our students to respect the rules of the school • We expect our students to have good attendance and punctuality – aim to achieve 96% and more! • We expect our students to be respectful to each other and to their teachers and to contribute positively to our community • We expect our students to be motivated and resilient • We expect our students to DO HOMEWORK!!! • We expect our students to attend intervention sessions • We expect our students to be focused and want to excel in their exams • But these are the same things that you expect!!! PROUD TRADITIONS | WIDE HORIZONS | HIGH ACHIVEMENT Aude Sapere | Dare to know

  21. GIVE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE 100% • Pupils who miss school risk failing to achieve what they are capable of. • Figures have shown that 96% of persistent, poor non‐attenders fail to achieve five or more good grades at GCSE • 10 minutes late to school every day = 32 hours a year of lost education • 1 day a week of school missed = 2 months a year of lost education • Danger Zone: 19 missed days over the school year reduces your chances of success – GCSE grades could drop by one grade across all subjects!!! • When you miss school… you miss out!
