English/Reading (continued) • Implemented Academy of Reading with select students • Aligning curriculum throughout district and with the Common Core Standards • Pilot American Studies Program 2011-12 • Implementing Literacy Team to support educators in applying reading strategies across curricular disciplines.

Science • Increased use of supplemental reading materials • Increased emphasis on note-taking while reading • Continue to work on and implement new formative assessments • Working on increasing parental contacts by email, phone and special reports • Used practice PSAE test questions in class.

  11. Social Studies • Completed curriculum scope and sequence • Implemented word wall activities • Implemented an AP Government course • Pilot American Studies Program 2011-12 • Emphasis placed on written objectives for each lesson • Continuing to implement the instruction of reading strategies
