GETTING STARTEDSTEP 1 • On the cover, write your full name and class units Mrs. W Units 1-3
STEP 2 • IN PENCIL • Starting with the first page, number the first 25 pages. Numbers should be small and at the bottom outside corner of every page. Back of the front cover 3 1 2
Step 3 • On page 1 glue in the Science Grading Rubric- sit on the table when done
STEP 4 • Cut and glue Table of Contents on page2 of your journal. Write “Table of Contents” on Pages 3 and 4 for future use.- stand on one foot when done TABLE OF CONTENTS
DRAWING UNIT TITLE PAGE • OPEN YOUR JOURNAL TO PAGE 6 • PUT THE TITLE OF THE FIRST UNIT IN LARGE CAPITAL LETTERS: SAFETY UNIT • CREATE DRAWINGS THAT YOU THINK SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS UNIT (YOU MAY CUT AND PASTE PICTURES FROM MAGAZINES, OR CLIP ART) • THERE SHOULD BE NO WHITE SPACE LEFT WHEN YOU ARE DONE

GRADING • The journal will be graded on thoroughness of entries, organization of each page, and quality of reflections of your learning. RUBRIC
Communication Possible Reflection questions • What are you curious about? • What don’t you understand? • What is your group’s conclusion?
Reflection Page • Go to page 10 and glue in the reflection page (just like openers) write the word REFLECTION vertically reflection
SAFETY TARGET • On Page 11, write SAFETY TARGET as the heading. • Skip a line or two and write the following sentence • I can identify the appropriate safety procedures of the science classroom.
