Innovative library service promotes and improves lives of farmers • Jagodina town is located in the Central part of Serbiaand it is the seat of Pomoravlje region. • The municipality of Jagodina: • 71.195 inhabitants • 36.092 lives in the town • 35.103 in the villages • 70% agricultural area • 52 villages. • Most of the rural population are farmers. Key achievements of AgroLib-Ja • Today, over 900 farmers regularly visit the rural libraries and use theAgroLib-Ja services • Agricultural journals and literature / enhanced farmers production • Agricultural lectures / enhanced agricultural production. To date, the libraries hosted 37 professional lectures with 23 speakers attended by 1,791 farmers. • Increased farmers’ ICT literacy through IT training, using computers and Internet in the libraries. To date, over 200 farmers have attended ICT training. • The financial situation of farmers improves through advertising on the online marketplace.
