  1. What's the shortest distance between you and high-speed Internet delivery?

  2. It's not DSL or ISDN.

  3. It's not satellite.

  4. It's not MMDS.

  5. It's a broadband wireless Platform from Motorola that can give you the power to deliver high-speed Internet

  6. And it's arrived!

  7. Introducing

  8. The shortest distance between you and high-speed Internet delivery.

  9. With Canopy, you can go from being an Internet service user to an Internet service provider in a flash. Why? Because there's -

  10. No license needed. Canopy works in the unlicensed NII spectrum, so there's no need for spectrum licensing.

  11. No complex equipment. Canopy equipment is streamlined and simple to install.

  12. No major investment. The start-up cost of the Canopy platform is more affordable than any other wireless Internet connectivity option.

  13. No complex infrastructure. There's no need to run overhead or inground wire or microwave or to install new software. In fact, your Canopy system can be up and running in a day!

  14. It's just fast, affordable wireless Internet service with you in control.

  15. The Canopy Competitive Advantage

  16. Canopy space is not PAN space - or personal area network This is the area limited to a space of 10-30 feet surrounding the end user-most often served by Bluetooth™ and similar application. Canopy goes beyond this area.

  17. Canopy space is not LAN space - or local area network is the area limited to a space of 100-300 feet surrounding the end user-end user's laptop environment --including, PCs, printers, servers, and gateways. Canopy goes beyond this area too.

  18. Considered the best system for the Access Internet space, Canopy utilizes effective network management tools that provide a secure, flexible Internet solution with minimal investment in infrastructure for all network operators and internet services.

  19. With it’s simple equipment, Canopy makes it easy to build your own Internet access network.

  20. Canopy is the result of an extensive effort to develop a low cost, simple to deploy, high speed Internet Access system and acts as a compliment in the Internet space which is commonly divided into 3 parts:

  21. The Canopy Subscriber Module (SM) connects you to your Internet access network.

  22. The brains of your Internet access network is the Canopy AP Unit.

  23. The glue of your Internet access network is the Canopy AP Installation Kit.

  24. The Canopy Backhaul Unit (BH) gives you the flexibility to connect your Internet access network to a remote Internet “feed.”

  25. Install the Canopy Subscriber Module at your customer’s site. The Canopy Subscriber Module is the Internet access receiver for your customer.

  26. MountCanopy APUnits in a convenient location which faces your customers. The Canopy AP Unit directs the clear radio signal from you to your customers. The Canopy Installation Kit provides the hardware connectivity for your network.

  27. When you need to provide Internet “feed,” from a remote location, install Canopy BackHaul Units.

  28. Once your network is in place, here’s how Canopy works -

  29. Canopy AP Unitscommunicate with all Canopy Subscriber Modules in your network - delivering clear, consistent, collision -free communications.

  30. Your Canopy AP Unitscan serve Canopy Subscriber Modules up to 2 miles away Each Canopy AP Unit can serve up to 200 Subscriber Modules. With 6 units installed, you can serve your network in all directions - or 360º coverage.

  31. Canopy BackHaul Units talk to each other using a Point-to-Point protocol. With BackHaul Units installed at the Access Point and a remote location, you can have a remote Internet “feed” between you and your customer.

  32. Clearly, Canopy is the best solution * It’s faster * It delivers better. * It reaches more customers

  33. Canopy is faster than any other ISP option your customer has. And we can prove it –

  34. Canopy is faster for downloads. Now, watch as 5 MB file downloads from server to PC. *Download speeds based on typical dial-up, 58.8 modem, --- Actual speeds may vary. Canopy is at least as fast as MMDS – and faster than all other options.

  35. Canopy is faster for uploads. Watch how fast a 2.5 MB file uploads from a PC to a server, with typical speeds for each ISP option.* *Upload speeds based on typical dial-up, 58.8 modem, --- Actual speeds may vary. There’s no contest - Canopy uploads faster than all other ISP options.

  36. Canopy reaches better.Fast Internet delivery demands an interference-free signal. That’s where Canopy really performs.Because Canopy achieves “capture” – delivery with no interference – at the most modest signal level, it provides fast, interference-free Internet access to your customers.

  37. Each Canopy AP (Access Point) Unit can register up to 200 Canopy SM (Subscriber Module) Units. A 6 Canopy AP Site can register up to 1200 SM Units. Additional capacity can be achieved by adding more access points. Each Canopy AP Unit can support 6Mbps aggregate Capacity to registered SM units (uplink and downlink combined). Individual subscribers can achieve transfer speeds up to 3Mbps. A 6 Canopy AP Site requires less than a 36Mbps Internet feed.

  38. Each Canopy systems provide complete isolation from other Canopy systems. Units can only communicate with other units in the same system Canopy systems provide advanced over-the-air DES encrypted communications. Radio communications is secure, i.e., cannot be intercepted Canopy systems provide 128bit authentication. Only authorized subscribers will be able to gain service

  39. Canopy’s small size & mistake-proof design makes it easy to install. Easier installation means lower deployment cost. Canopy employs the same low-cost subscriber technology for access points. Canopy access points are incredibly affordable, defining a new low cost for entry for service providers. Canopy an optimum service area for each access point. 2 mile cells provide easier line-of-sight demands than bigger cell systems such as MMDS. Small cells provide for far simpler alignment demands than satellite.

  40. Canopy SM is simple & easy to setup. Small size - 11.75” x 3.4” x 3.4”. UL Approved / no FCC license required. Single cable - standard RJ45, 8-pin Ethernet. Simple indoor AC adapter. Direct Ethernet connection to home network or computer. Canopy installation & configuration is easy. Built-in, easy to use alignment mode. Built-in diagnostics & configuration web pages. Canopy works with all Internet applications. Completely compatible with IPv4, UDP, TCP, ICMP, Telnet, HTTP, FTP, SNMP

  41. Canopy service is inexpensive & easy. No costly spectrum license - no FCC license required No costly, prime transmitter sites required. Small cells can be provided from local area, dominant building rooftop or water tower. UL Approved. Canopy AP is simple & easy to setup. Small size - AP unit same as SM: 11.75” x 3.4” x 3.4” 6 Canopy AP Units covers 360˚ surrounding area. Direct 100baseT Ethernet connection to network. AP Installation Kit contains everything necessary for installing a 6 AP Unit site. Remote access capability “over-the-air” for software upgrades

  42. Canopy service is inexpensive & easy. AC Power Supply capable of supporting 6 Canopy AP Units and 2 Canopy BH Units. GPS receiver & antenna for automatic AP synchronization. Built-in Ethernet Switch.

  43. Canopy AP network connection can be delivered toan Access Point site from a remote location. Same basic radio as AP and SM. BH unit @5.8GHz is non-interfering with AP to SM link. One side of BH link can be co-located at AP Dish provides extended BH range up to 7 miles. 20Mbps backhaul for each BH link. Any point-to-point application can also be served by a Canopy BH link. Data: T1 or leased line replacement.

  44. Basic Residential Service Delivering Internet Service to Residential, or SOHO (small office, home office) customers in a community.
