hotdogs

Students, when you make a simple list of items, you can write them in rows or columns. However, when you list items in a sentence (e.g., I like pizza, blueberries, and hotdogs.), you need to use punctuation to separate each item. The items in this list are called “items in a series.” Now, we will separate items in a series.

Write the correct punctuation to separate any items and/or series in the paragraph.

I just had the most amazing vacation. My family and I traveled to Asia this summer! We went to Hong Kong, China Tokyo, Japan and Agra, India. India was my favorite. We saw the beautiful architecture gardens and jewels of the Taj Mahal the tigers cobras and Indian elephants at the wildlife reserves and the statues shrines and waterfalls of the temples. My brother liked Hong Kong the best. We had so much good food there! We ate hot and sour soup mooncakes and shark’s fin. I didn’t particularly like the shark’s fin, though. Even though our time in Tokyo was the shortest, we still had a wonderful time. We saw the skyscrapers walked through the food markets and rode the bullet train. 123 words
