  • Recognize the importance of the buffalo to the American Indian culture on the Great Plains.
  • Compare buffalo populations on the plains over time.
  • Define: conquistadors, conservationists, delicacies, descendents, domesticated, endangered, extinct, nomadic, outmaneuver, preservation, stampede, vaccinate, zoologists.
  • Identify: Pte Oyate, Frederick Dupree, James ("Scotty") Philip, William Hornaday, American Bison Society.
