Highlights of Current Activities - 4G (IMT-Advanced) • 4G (IMT-Advanced) • Focused on Standardization in • WiBro FemtoCell • Interworking between WiBro and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) • Media Independent Handover Framework • Implementation of IMT-Advanced channel model • TTA will participate in International standardization through cooperation with 3GPP, IEEE802.16, and CJKB3G • TTA will put efforts to establish WiBro FemtoCell as international standards • TTA will try to develop IMT-Advanced evaluation tools

Highlights of Current Activities - IPTV • IPTV • Phase 2 in progress for adopting ITU-T IPTV standard in consideration of NGN network by December 2010 • Standardization for interoperability of IPTV services and contents among IPTV service providers is in progress • . DCAS, Middleware API, SI(Service Information) • Standard research and development for Mobile IPTV to evolve to next generation IPTV • Phase 1 completed in April 2008 : Supports IPTV based on legacy IP network • KT launched the first IPTV real-time terrestrial television broadcasting service in Nov. 2008 and SK Broadband & LG Dacom in Jan. 2009 • TTA will Complete domestic IPTV standardization by December 2009 • DCAS, SI, Middleware API • TTA expects DCAS will be implemented by fourth quarter of 2010

Highlights of Current Activities – Advanced T-DMB • Advanced T-DMB • Increased the data rate • Maintain backward compatibility with the T-DMB service • Completed lab and field test of Advanced T-DMB • TTA will Complete TTA Advanced T-DMB Domestic Standard by June 2009 • TTA will try to establish AT-DMB as ITU standard by 2011 Comparison of Mobile Broadcasting Systems

Highlights of Current Activities – ICT and Climate Change • ICT & Climate Change • Cooperation in standardization • TTA : Establishing the standards/Technical Report for ICT&CC • Radio Research Agency: Works regarding to ITU • ICT&CC Forum: Gathering opinions of ICT industries • TTA will develop methodology to estimate CO2 emissions • Hosting of ITU Climate Change Symposium in Korea • Date : 23 September 2009 • Venue : Seoul, Korea • Organized by KCC (Korea Communications Commission) and ITU • Hosted by TTA • On-site & Video Conference (with Live Casting on Internet)

TV-OUT, MP3 fast wind and rewind, Universal Asynchronous I/O • . Estimated cost saving : USD 10mil. per year (Since 2008)

Highlights of Current Activities – IT Testing and Certification • TTA provides Testing and Certification services in whole ICT area • Recently Bench Mark Testing services are increasing Software Digital Broadcasting Equipment Network Mobile Phone Charger Mobile Phone TTA Certified TTA verified GOOD Software Data Broadcasting DMB

Highlights of Current Activities – IT Testing and Certification • Bluetooth • Dr. Jeongku Lee Recognized as BQE (Bluetooth Qualification Expert) by Bluetooth SIG (May 2008), in addition to Dr. Ganghae Lee • Accredited as CATL (CTIA Authorized Testing Laboratory) by CTIA in Feb. 2009 • USB • Dr. Dongho Kim designated as Certified Administrator in 2008 • Qualified as Test Lab on Hi-Speed USB (Oct. 2008) and Wireless USB (Mar. 2009) by USB-IF • Plan to expand to USB 3.0 in 2010

Future Direction • Focus on standardization in the areas of 4G, Mobile IPTV, and Green-IT • Focus on standardization in IT convergence • u-Transportation • Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication System • u-Health • Biometrics Monitoring, u-Health network platform • e-Navigation • Satellite Communication, Global Maritime Distress and Safety System • Strengthen cooperation between Fora & TTA Standard Committee • - Forums will gather opinions of industries and send drafts to TTA • - TTA will adopt the drafts as TTA standards
