Extend/Apply • Reflect & Assess in order to improve • Integrate, synthesize and be open to changing how we think, feel and act • Continuously validate by applying new knowledge, feelings, and actions • Probe and inquire • Think critically, creatively • Analyze and synthesize • Apply knowledge in • meaningful contexts • Practice new behaviors • Build new skills We all want to find ways to increase engagement and creative collaborations in our students. So, how?

OB221: The Dynamics of Leading Organizations & People • SMG’s large core undergraduate Organizational Behavior course • Course on individual behavior and team dynamics • Experiential Learning-based curriculum • 1,000 students per year, 14 discussion sections each Fall & Spring • Accompanied by a creative lecture series • Have implemented many pedagogical innovations • Now capturing and accelerating learning through creation & use of custom videos and short films

  15. Why I love being a part of OB221’s video projects… My favorite part of the process is watching the audience watch the final product. I look for reactions: laughter, silence, gasps, etc. because it signals to me that the students are engaged. It gives me a rewarding feeling knowing that I am supporting students’ learning and pushing the boundaries of higher education pedagogy Yvonne Tran, OB Video RA

Some Lessons • Students are incredibly engaged by video and film • It’s easier than you think to create quality video • Technology can be an enabler of learning as well as teamwork • Learning can be moved across space and time through video • Enhanced Creativity, Collaboration, Engagement, Learning
