Eastern Partnership – one of the top priorities during the Lithuanian presidency in the 2nd half of 2013
EaP Regulators Network is… …a network of NRAs for electronic communications networks and services from 6 Eastern Partnership countries: • Armenia • Azerbaijan • Belarus • Georgia • the Republic of Moldova • Ukraine
Objectives? • Improve relations and cooperationamongst EaPNRAs • ApproximateEaP regulatory framework to EU • Exchangeexpertise, experience and best practices among EaP and EU NRAs • Promote continuous cooperation among EaP NRAs
When established? In September 2012, Chisinau (Moldova) by signing MoU: • signed by Armenia, Georgia, Moldova,andUkraine. • Azerbaijan and Belarus may join MoU anytime, but have the right to participate in all EaP Network activities. • EaP cooperation on ICT launched in 2010 in Viena (AT) • Followed by meetings in 2011 in Trakai (LT) and Barcelona (ES) *Prior to that…
Membership? • free of charge • 6 EaP NRAs • + open to any BEREC members (active participants: Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Romainia)
Funding of EaP Network activities? EU Technical assistance project for 2013-2014: • fulfilled by a contracting company (Price Waterhouse Coopers, Slovakia) • EU covers travelling expenses only for 6 EaP NRAs • EU covers organizational expenses (plenary meetings, technical workshops, study visits, etc.) * no covering of expenses for EU NRAs
Organizational structure? • No permanent secretariat • Contact Network: representatives from EaP and EU • Chairman and Vice-chairman: • for 1 year term • elected in Plenary Meetings by Network members from EaPwhich signed MoU • Chairman - from EaPand Vice-chairman – from EU, and vice versa
