The Board of Education has authorized tomorrow, Friday, June 13 as a Dress Down Day to raise funds for Jake. Jake is a 6 year old Ivy Drive student who at 22 months was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) , an incurable degenerative neuromuscular disease that affects all the muscles in his body. It will cost approximately $30,000 to get their family van modified. Jake is getting too big for his car seat and will soon need to stay in his wheelchair while being transported . Anyone wishing to participate in this fundraiser should give their contributions to Maggie Daniels in the Main Office. Checks can be made out to the Jake Small Fund.
