  1. Why Swap Vegetable Oil for Olive Oil A majority of the households in India, more or less, use refined vegetable oil in their cooking. However, in this day and age olive oil has quickly become an important part of the pantry in most households and not without reason either. Olive oil has been known to have tremendous benefits to your health when used in the right manner. But is it really worth switching from vegetable oil to olive oil? Let's have a look. The right kind of fat, like oils and butters can have a truly incredible impact on your health. However, it is important to know what to choose since the impact could either be negative or positive. A lot of us have grown used to cooking with refined vegetable oils of course. However, there is a lot of proof in the pudding when it comes talking about how that olive oil is wonderfully beneficial to our health when we decide to include it in our diet on a regular basis. However, if you are still unsure, here are our top 3 reasons as to why you should switch from refined vegetable oil to olive oil on a regular basis. Monounsaturated Fatty Acids As everyone already knows that olive oil is extracted directly from olives, you also ought to know that olive oil happens to be the one oil that contains the maximum amount of monounsaturated fatty acids! Isn't that amazing? One cannot debate with the fact that there are different kinds of fat in the oil itself. However, upon breaking down the composition in itself, it was found that olive oil has 14% saturated fats and 11% is polyunsaturated fats. However, when it comes to the bottom line, the fatty acid that is found in the oil in majority is essentially MUFA or Monounsaturated Fatty Acids. Essentially what that means is the 73% of the total fat content in olive oil is made up of monounsaturated fatty acids. Oleic acid i.e. MUFA, has been known to help wonderfully in decreasing issues like inflammation. Other than that, it also helps one's body fight against diseases like cancer as well. Another amazing thing about MUFA is that any oil with MUFA in it happens to be a wonderful option for cooking as MUFA in itself is heat resistant.

  2. Helps treat rheumatoid arthritis Till date, the exact cause of rheumatoid arthritis has not been found. However, the one thing that scientists are certain of is that it is caused when the immune system attacks healthy and normal cells by mistake. Rheumatoid arthritis is basically an autoimmune disease resulting in painful joints and sometimes their deformation too. However, the good news is that, thanks to a number of studies conducted, it has been found that certain components present in natural olive oil help brilliantly in reducing the inflammation that a majority of rheumatoid arthritis patients suffer from. On top of that, when olive oil is combined with fish oil for consumption, the effects turn out to be even more astounding. This is essentially due to the fact that fish oil also happens to have anti-inflammatory properties. Antibacterial nature What if we told you that olive oil has a few absolutely brilliant nutrients that stagnate the growth of harmful bacteria in the body? What's more is the fact that sometimes these nutrients happen to even completely wipe out all harmful bacteria present in the body too! Let us take for example stomach ulcers! The main cause if these ulcers is a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori. Stomach ulcers might not sound as dangerous to most people, but in the long run it has been known to turn into stomach cancer as well. Now, thanks to a number of tests being conducted to observe the olive oil health benefits, it has been found that extra virgin olive oil is brilliant when it comes to fighting 8 strains of this bacterium. This is also despite the fact that 3 of these 8 strains are resistant to bacteria as well It has also been found that in people who follow the Mediterranean diet have better brain functioning when compared to people who do not include olive oil in their daily diet. The benefits of swapping refined oil with olive oil are numerous to say the least and these are merely some of them mentioned here. So, swap your oil already
