Men in the army • The Roman army was divided into legions of about 5,000 men.
Big armys The romans had a huge amount of people in their armys.
army training • The army's training was a twenty Roman miles (18.4 miles) march ( completed in five hours) carrying a pack of weapons, shield, food rations, a cooking pot with a spade.
Sharing tents • In barracks, these eight men shared two rooms. On a march they shared a leather tent and a mule to carry it.
EQUIPMENT • Romans used alot of equipment • The romans used a red battle cloak • they wore military boots • A sheild
Julius caesar • In 55 B.C. Caesar, with 80 ships and 80.000 men, tried to invade England but he didn't succeed
Juiluscaesar • Julius Caesar was born on July 13 100 B.C. He was a great soldier and general. He helped to take over new land for the Roman Empire.
failture • The next year he came back with 800 and again he didn't succeed to conquer South-England.
death • He was stabbed to death at a meeting of the Senate in 44 BC and the era of the Republic ended.
