  1. Prescription Module in AxiUm(for prescription and OTC medications) at the USC School of Dentistry 2005 Marina Lazzara-Jimenez, RDH Director of Quality Assurance, USCSD

  2. With the implementation of AxiUm, our digital clinical information system, we began building a prescription database in Jan. 2004. To date, the database contains approximately 120 drugs (OTC and prescribed) with a variety of dosages and routes of available administration. The medication, dosage and frequency is selected from a drop down menu and the entry is automatically entered in the paperless therapy notes. Printed Rx’s (from AxiUm) will be available in the near future, with the exception of Schedule II drugs that MUST BE written on the USCSD Security Rx pads. In the near future, it will be acceptable, to print out Schedule III-V drugs from Axium, but they must be faxed into the pharmacy by the provider. *NOTE* ALL PRESCRIPTIONS MUST BE ENTERED INTO THE PATIENT’S AXIUM CHART TO ENSURE PROPER AND ACCURATE DATA COLLECTION AND DOCUMENTATION.
