What is Silver Bear NYLT ? • It’s an intense, 6-day, outdoor leadership training experience for youth leaders. • Its principle function is to help Scoutmasters by training their top boy leaders in the skills of leadership. • It utilizes The new National BSA Training Format for Leadership Development • It focuses on the ‘Aims of Scouting’ • Participating Citizenship • Growth in Moral Strength and Character • Development in Physical, Mental and Emotional Fitness

The Goals of Silver Bear NYLT • To give participants the confidence and knowledgeto run the Troop program. • Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions and audio-visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skills and confidence to lead well. • To give participants the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with Scouts from other Troops. • To create an atmosphere where Scouts will experience Scouting at its best. • To enhance the relationship between the participant and his Scoutmaster. • To haveFUN.
