    2. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 2 Assignment brief Assessment will be based on the completion of a staged Personal Reflective Diary throughout the module, and one piece of reflective writing of between 2000 and 3000 words.

    3. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 3 Assignment brief This reflective writing will provide a personal reflective account of your development as a learner, a person and a health development professional over your time spent in studying for the Diploma. It will also include the directions this development might take in future.

    4. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 4 Assignment brief Emphasis will be placed on your ability to synthesis and critique personal experiences, and to explore the impact of this for the student’s personal effectiveness and direction as a health development professional. Credit will also be given for attempts to theorise this experience through some aspect of personal development theory.

    5. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 5 Assignment tutorial learning outcomes By the end of this session you should be able to: Appreciate the importance of keeping a regular reflective diary throughout the remainder of the course Understand the requirements of the assessment Construct a plan for the completion of the assignment, including a draft to be worked on in class.

    6. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 6 Rationale for the assessment The point of the reflective writing is to give open, honest reflection upon your development as a person and a professional as a result of your experiences on the course. The starting point for this is your Learning Diary

    7. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 7 A challenge The assessment offers a real challenge. Don’t treat it lightly The quality of the final 3000 word writing depends on the quality of the weekly diary work. The longer you spend on this diary work the easier it will be for you to write the final 3000 word paper.

    8. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 8 A challenge The things you can do to produce the level of personal reflection and analysis required have been introduced in the sessions. These things can be practiced in your diary and again, the more you do this, the easier it will be to write the 3000 word paper.

    9. reflecting on personal and professional practice GM 7017 healthdevelopment@uce.ac.uk 9 Health : to what extent has the student reflected critically on their own past and current experiences of health and health development.
