WHAT IS OTOP? • supports Executive Order No. 176 which stipulates supporting countrywide growth of our local MSMEs by stimulating local economic activity and sustain the anti-poverty thrust of the government. • Through OTOP, Local Chief Executives of each city and municipality take the lead in identifying, developing and promoting a specific product or service which has a competitive advantage.

  3. OTOP PHILIPPINES • Adoption of Japan’s “One Village, One Product” successful project for regional development • Concept adapted in Thailand, Vietnam, Malawi, Cambodia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, China and Indonesia

VISION A strong nation backed up by progressive municipalities with competitive SMEs that provide employment and fuel the local economy by providing products/ services distinctively identified with their originand maximize the use of local resources in terms of manpower, materials and culture.

  6. What it wants to achieve? OTOP Philippines …put the mechanism in place to nurture fledging enterprises thru a unified, coordinated and cohesive effort of identified OTOP implementers among LGUs, NGAs and NGOs. • What may be considered the biggest challenge was putting together the convergence of development services that would comprise the comprehensive assistance package to the OTOP enterprises.
