Living • Live in Pacific north west • No government and no laws ( lived in groups w/ relatives) • Girls learn to sew and boys learn to hunt • No official marriages (could borrow a wife from friend) • connected language (none written)
Food • Men hunt water animals and few land animals • Use harpoons, guns, knives, and bow and arrows • Hunted in kayaks (they developed them) • Eat meat raw (has nutrients)
Clothing • Heavy Whale/ Moose skin used • If they make 1 mess up in sewing, someone could freeze to death • Clean coats thoroughly (never leave snow on coat) • Women ALWAYS sew
Houses • Live in Igloos • Learn how to build while young • Built to be warm • If starts to turn black from lamp, build new one
Interesting Facts • Born w/ blue patch on spine (Goes away) • Name means “the People” • All have Black Hair, Brown eyes, and wide faces • All water is melted Ice • Some Inuit use modern tools today
FUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!! • Inuit have a game called IGLAGUNERK It is really fun. Two people have a laughing contest to see who can laugh the hardest. Laughing is Contagious, so watch out. Maybe I could have a few Volunteers …
