EFIM, founded in 1996, emerged from AEMI's legacy through the collaboration of distinguished founders: Yves Le Tallec (France), Ugo Carcassi (Italy), Christopher Davidson (England), Philippe Jaeger (Switzerland), Jaime Merino (Spain), Michel Lambert (Belgium), and Jan Willem Elte (The Netherlands). Dedicated to advancing internal medicine, EFIM encompasses 35 national societies, an executive committee, administrative council, and various working groups. Its Secretariat is located in Brussels, serving as a hub for cooperation among European nations, including Israel, Cyprus, and Malta.
