Logos: Main Types • Wordmark: the name is the main element • Most common, often cheapest, good to create name recognition • May use funky display font or adjust some elements of a normal font • Lettermarks: letters/abbreviation of the name is the main element • Good for longer names • Requires more name recognition
Logos: Main Types • Brandmark: abstract symbol that represents company, may be stylized letter • Multicultural • Until recognized doesn’t “represent” company • Icons or Combination: includes mix of visual and text, text may form part of the visual • Good for companies with some name recognition • Connects visual with name
