  3. Caffeine Content • Coffee(8oz) 100-200mg • Tea (8oz) 50mg • Mountain Dew (12 oz) 71 mg • Red Bull (8oz) 80mg • 5 hour energy 215 mg.

  4. Symptoms • Increased wakefulness • Agitation • Jitteriness • Nausea/Vomiting • Palpitations • tremor

  5. Clinical Signs • Hypertension • Tachycardia • Dilated pupils • Fine tremor • Agitation • Vomiting

  6. Profile for severely intoxicated Sympathomimetic appearing + PROFOUND VOMITING HYPOkalemia Seizures Ventricular tachycardia and VFIB…death

  7. Treatment • Supportive with fluids, anti-emetics, and benzodiazepines. • Dialysis(consider for status epilepticus and dysrhythmias)
