Roles & Responsibilities About SKEMA Assistant or Associate Professor Contract : Permanent contract from September 2014 Workplace : SKEMA Sophia Antipolis campus (France) • SKEMA Business School is an EQUIS and AACSB-accredited academic institution. SKEMA is one of Europe’s fastest growing business schools. It currently operates on three continents with campuses in France (Sophia Antipolis, Lille and Paris), China (Suzhou) and the US (Raleigh – NC State campus). • The school offers a wide range of management programs, taught in English and in French, at Bachelor, Master and Doctoral levels, as well as Executive Education. More than 6000 students are currently enrolled in the school’s programs worldwide. • The faculty at SKEMA is composed of 160 professors. The expertise of our faculty enables us to provide educational programs which reflect the opportunities and challenges of the global economic environment. • Center on Innovation and Competition • The SKEMA Research Center on Innovation and Competition work on a variety of topics, including industrial organization, innovation, economic growth and business cycles, consumers and firms’ behavior, international trade, and the banking system. You can find details on the activities of the center at : http://ofce-skema.org • OFCE • OFCE is an independent and publicly-funded centre whose activities focus on economic research, forecasting and the evaluation of public policy. Its 1981 founding charter established it as part of the French Fondationnationale des sciences politiques (Sciences Po), and gave it the mission is to “ensure that the fruits of scientific rigour and academic independence serve the public debate about the economy”. • Applications are invited for a permanent, tenurable position the Department of Strategy, • Entrepreneurship and Economics at the SKEMA Business School. Candidate in the field • of Economics of Innovation, Industrial Organization, International Trade are encouraged • to apply. • The position is open from September 2014. Applications are accepted until the position is filled. • The appointment can be made at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. • Candidates for junior position should have a PhD in Economics and be able to demonstrate promise • of excellence in both teaching and research. Candidates for the associate position should have a • very good research record and demonstrated teaching abilities.

  2. Skills and Knowledge Application procedure • The successful candidate will be in charge of the management of a Master of Sciences in Digital Economy that is planned to open in the SKEMA Sophia campus on September 2015. • The selected candidate will also become member of the SKEMA research Center on Innovation and Competition, and of the DRIC department of the OFCE, the Economics Research Center of Sciences Po (see page 2) • Main responsibilities as director of the Master in Digital Economy: • Ensure the quality of curriculum content • Recruit and manage adjunct faculty for the program • (with the head of the economics department) • Develop partnerships with target firms and lead the program’s scientific committee • Put forward and implement program changes in line with SKEMA’s strategy • Supervise students • Teach courses in different years and programs • Hold a doctorate or PhD in Economics • Demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent teaching at different levels, and provide a strong commitment to engage in innovative teaching. • Be able to teach in English • Previous experience in program management or another academic coordination role. • Publications in peer reviewed journals. • Be a good team player. • Candidates should send the following information to Delphine BREILLAT: delphine.breillat@skema.edu • A cover-letter describing their qualifications for the position • A curriculum vitae • A summary of teaching activities and their teaching evaluations • A selection of three representative scientific contributions • And three letters of recommendation • The position is open from September 2014.
