    • Explore energy efficiency projects that reduce consumption
what we did
What we did
  • Bought wind energy for 30% of our Borough accounts.
  • Convinced Delaware County Government to follow our lead and purchase wind energy for their borough owned properties.
  • Wrote an Energy Harvest Grant in 2002, for the start of the micro-grid project.
key aspects
Key Aspects
  • Find a renewable energy expert/installer of solar energy systems.
  • Trust their review of the building potential.
  • Have realistic expectations of the project.
  • Commit to cost sharing at least 50% of the capital costs of the project.
  • Baseline the environmental benefits of the project.
  • Find a renewable energy partner that has experience in municipal government projects.
  • The partner should be able to do energy efficiency analysis for additional savings.
  • Let them do their analysis with minimal involvement.

media borough eac solar energy power
Five photovoltaic systems located throughout the Borough: public school, government center, regional theater, firehouse, museum and public library. Each installation is 5 kW each; totaling 25 kW of solar energy. Media Borough EAC - Solar Energy Power
adaptive reuse project
Dollar savings estimated to be at least $10,688.00 annually – and the Borough can sell energy back to a supplier at $0.20 per kilowatt while buying it at a cheaper rate (50% of the current bill), because there are no distribution charges. Adaptive Reuse Project
