IEEE-USA PACE IEEE-USA National PACE Committee • The PACE Committee consists of • The Chair, appointed by IEEE-USA Vice President, Professional Activities • Region 1-6 PACE Coordinators, appointed by IEEE Region 1-6 Directors • Technical/Divisional Representative • GOLD Representative • IEEE-USA Vice President, Professional Activities, serves as an ex-officio member • IEEE-USA Staff Support • Responsible for promoting professional activities • within Regions 1-6 sections and student branches, and • at the regional and divisional level 2009 IEEE Region 1 Winter Meeting PACE Program Report

IEEE-USA Divisional PACE • PACE Network’s Divisional PACE Objectives • Encourage and promote professional development opportunities at technical society chapter events • Provide funding support for Chapter PACE activities • Divisional PACE is represented in the PACE Committee by a Technical/Divisional Representative 2009 IEEE Region 1 Winter Meeting PACE Program Report
IEEE-USA Divisional PACE • Divisional PACE funding is available to support section technical society Chapter PACE activities • Divisional PACE funds • Up to $5K across IEEE-USA • Up to $1,000 per request • Funding requests must be at least matched by chapter/section funding • Request using the Divisional PACE Project Funding Request form • Send to PACE Divisional Coordinator • After October of each year, the IEEE-USA PACE Committee may allocate un-requested Divisional PACE funds to Regional PACE project requests 2009 IEEE Region 1 Winter Meeting PACE Program Report

IEEE-USA Regional PACE Region PACE Funds • Annual grant to Regions 1-6 determined by: • 1/3 divided equally • 1/3 based on membership • 1/3 based on number of sections • Regions disperse funds to their sections to encourage and support section professional development events and activities • Region 1 Professional Development Funds • ~$13K Annually for Region 1 • Ground Rule: Use it or lose it 2009 IEEE Region 1 Winter Meeting PACE Program Report

Section Support Programs Summary • There are several programs offering Region financial support for Section and Chapter activities • Funding request usually require at least matching Section/Chapter funding • Additional funding assistance may be available from Technical Societies, IEEE-USA, IEEE Foundation, IEEE Affinity Groups (WIE, Life Member) • Don’t overlook corporate sponsorships • Provide value, i.e., visibility/publicity 2009 IEEE Region 1 Winter Meeting PACE Program Report
