  2. Example 1: Distance versus Time Graph Bob’s bike ride: Bob left his house and cycled for 2 minutes and travelled 600 metres at a constant pace. He stopped for 3 minutes then travelled an additional 400 metres in 4 minutes at a constant rate. Immediately, Bob raced back home in 4 minutes to watch his favorite TV show. Julie’s bike ride: Bob’s sister, Julie left the same time as Bob but had a slow start. She managed to increase her speed and caught up to him after 2 minutes. They took a 3 minute break together then Julie raced ahead of Bob to get to their final destination. Julie lost speed and ended up meeting Bob right before he started to head home. Again Julie lost speed on the way home and ended up arriving 1 minute later.
