Discussion Forums Definition: Online discussion forums are places where registered users can discuss. They are asynchronous, as opposed to web-conferencing. This means that forum users don’t need be online at the same time: they can leave messages or write answers on the forum at any time. The professional social network LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) provides discussion forums capacities.
Discussion Forums – • Linkedin If you are already registered, enter your login details here. If you are not yet registered, register here.
Discussion Forums – • Linkedin Once registered, sign in with your login details. The top of your homepage should look like this. In the search box, select « Groups » in the drop down list, type IRU Academy, and then click on the matching group.

Discussion Forums – • Linkedin Once you’ve joined a group, you can reach it via the Groups menu.
Discussion Forums – • Linkedin There are several tabs on the group’s page. The main one is Discussions. At the top of the Discussions page, you can start a discussion.
Discussion Forums – • Linkedin If you scroll down, youwillsee all the ongoing discussions on the forum. Click on a discussion’stitle to viewitsdetails. The various messages in the discussion are displayed, along with a box allowing you to add your own comment.
