  2. What is PIMTECT ? • Did you know that it effects you everyday in anything thing that you do? And you probably don’t even know it!!! • Did you know that if you know what PIMTECT is and how it works, it could help you to be more successful in school and also in your future life?

  3. SO WHAT IS IT? • Let us find out, open your textbook and read pages 51-61. • As you read answer the questions for Assignment 2 on pages 7 & 8 in your workbook. • Remember you are going to help UGH!! Please don’t forget about me!!!

  5. PEOPLE • 3 Reasons that Technology wouldn’t exist without People are: • People are the CREATORS of Technology. • People are the USERS of Technology. • And because we create it and use it, we develop SKILLS as we practice making and using Technology.

  6. People are the Creators of Technology

  7. People are the Users of Technology Oh Yeah, We Can Use It, Can YOU?

  8. People Develop Skills to Create Better Technology!!!

  9. These SKILLS let use create better and better Technology for use to use. + + = + +

  10. TA DA This kind of invention was not possible 20 years ago, the Technology just did not exist. So since we wanted it, we made it. Get the Picture!!!

  11. Information • Information is needed before you begin any job! It tells us what to do first, second and all the way to the last step. • We get information from • Directions • Instructions • Recipe Book • Parents • Teachers • TV • Radio • What Else?

  12. Materials • Materials are the things that we are going to make the final product out of. These things are called RAW MATERIALS. Can you name some raw materials that come for the Earth?

  13. Tools and Machines • These help us to extend our Human Abilities and help to make work easier on our bodies. Look around the Tech Room, Do you see some tools that help us to make work easier?

  14. ENERGY • Energy is in us, It is what drives our bodies. Do you know where this energy comes from? • Energy is also what makes the electrical stuff work in our homes, school and all of the other places that we visit each and every day.

  15. Capital • If you need to complete a job you may need certain materials, tools and machines, ways to get information, or what if you need to employ people to help you get the job done. What do you think you might need to get these things? Capital will get you what you need!

  16. Capital • You see capitalis the money that you use to buy Materials, Tools and Machines, Information, Energy, and the money you pay to your employees. • But it is also much much more. • Capital is also the stuff you or your family already own. Like your house, car, Play station, etc.

  17. Time Time, well time is the time that it takes to do the job right. There is no sense to do the job half way, or just enough to get it done. Do the job right and you have done something that you can be proud of.
