  2.  He is called the Spirit of life who is involved in setting us free.   (Verse 2) “because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” 2.  The Holy spirit has desires for us. (Verse 5) “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES – Bro.   3. 3.   He is the Spirit that gives life and peace.  (Verse 6) “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” 4.   The Spirit helps us control our sinful nature. (V.9) “You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.   4. 5.   He is the Spirit of resurrection.  (Verse 11) “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because ofhis Spirit who lives in you.” 6.   He will help us put to death the misdeeds of the body.  (Verse 13) “For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES – Bro.   5. For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.   6. 7.   Our being led by the Spirit is evidence of our being sons of God.  (Verse 14) “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God” He confirms our sonship.  (Verse 15) “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.   7. 9.   The Spirit speaks to our human spirits. (Verse 16) “  The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” 10.  The Spirit helps us with our weaknesses.  (V. 26) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES – Bro. Gerry Holloway

  8. 11.  The Spirit intercedes for us.  (Verse 26) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” THE PERSONAL WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN OUR LIVES – Bro. Gerry Holloway

  9. 12.  The Spirit help us to pray correctly.  (Vs 26-27) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
