Global Perspectives Podcast: Insights from International Students at Texas A&M University

The Global Perspectives Podcast brings together international students, faculty, and community members at Texas A&M University to discuss current global events. Co-produced with the Wiley Lecture Series, this initiative aims to provide valuable insights and unique perspectives on international issues, particularly those affecting the U.S. Each episode features interviews with students about significant topics like China's global influence and North Korean aggression. Despite challenges in scheduling and motivation, we have established a sustainable podcasting framework to ensure ongoing engagement with international affairs.

Objectives Goals Plan • Cover International Issues • Especially those affecting US, Texas A&M University • Create valuable, informative, unique content • Make interviews accessible Stay up to date with the current events internationally Leverage networks to access interviewees Work with Wiley to coproduce/distribute content

  6. Setbacks & Challenges Original radio program fell through Students committed, but then changed their minds Scheduling issues with interviewees, Wiley partners Issues editing content Miscommunication, lack of motivation by Wiley

  7. Outcome • Two successful interviews • Relevant discussion on China with Kang Nahua • Interview on N. Korean aggression with S. Korean student, Young Kim • Established process for sustainable Podcasts for Wiley organization • Good database of topics and questions that can be used in the future
