7. Cons • Not many….but things to consider… • “It’ll look bad on my CV.” • Far away from friends and family • Costs of moving • Lots and lots of admin to organise • Be prepared to take a “less desirable” job initially

8. How to organise • Contact district health boards directly • Agencies e.g. International Medical Recruitment • Friends/ contacts in older years • Start early • Be persistent, be patient • Be prepared to get a job late on in the year

9. Steps • Get a job • Once have a job apply for a visa (place of work will guide you through this). • Register with MCNZ • Indemnity cover abroad

10. Words of warning • Inform pensions department/ student loans company you are going away • Make sure you don’t get too much experience in your chosen field
