  2. PUN • A pun is a play on words and is created by using a word that has two different meanings, or using two different words with similar meanings for a playful effect.

  3. REPETITION • Repetition is the reiteration of a word or phrase for emphasis

  4. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,Humpty Dumpty had a great fall;All the King's horses and all the King's menCouldn't put Humpty together again

  5. RHETORIC • Rhetoric is the art and logic of a written or spoken argument

  6. RHETORICAL MODES • Describes the variety, the conventions, and the purposes of the major kinds of writing. The four most common rhetorical modes are as follows: • Exposition • Argumentation • Description • Narration

  7. An anecdote is an example of narration; Which is one of the rhetorical modes An anecdote example is the story of George Washington chopping down a cherry tree.

  8. RHETORICAL STRATEGY • A strategy is a plan of action or movement to achieve a goal. In rhetoric, strategy describes the way an author organizes words and sentences in order to achieve a particular purpose.
