  1. Eastern Arkansas 3 Campuses 2,100 Students High Minority Population High Poverty Population 90% of Students Need Remediation in One or More Areas HLC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BRIDGES TO SUCCESS

  2. Quality Improvement Project Goal: PCCUA will increase the success rate of students moving from the highest remediation class through two “gatekeeper” classes. Student success for African-American males will be emphasized. Scope: PCCUA will bridge the movement of students from remediation coursework through the college gatekeeper courses: Freshman English I and College Algebra.

  3. Bridges to Success Challenges:External obstacles faced by students, faculty ownership of process, student participation as true stakeholders, three campuses, communication, increased capacity to provide service, research gathering and analysis, meeting student and community needs. Innovations: Doing what we do differently to improve student success.
