What generally happened was, you would come up with five to ten keywords that would work as your golden keywords and drive a majority of traffic to your website. Nowadays, when someone comes and says that they need to be on no. 1 spot in search engine result for so and so keyword, it can be considered that they are stuck in a paradigm.
