Race to the Top Phase 3 Basics Pennsylvania will receive a total of $41,326,299 Half to Districts and Charters, or $20,663,150 The official grant period is four years, or 12/22/2011to 12/22/2015 An ARRA program, but not ARRA funds (no 1512 Reporting)! PA Proposed activities that were in the Phase 2 application that aligned to current/existing activities RTT3 – What

Race to the Top Phase 3 Activities Implement an online curriculum, emphasis on STEM Further develop the PA Standards Aligned System (SAS) portal Develop a publicly-accessible, web-based “report card” Develop and implement an online educator “dashboard” Refine and implement teacher and principal evaluation systems incorporate student performance results as a significant factor. Provide professional development in the use of the new evaluation systems, including how to utilize the information to improve teacher and principal effectiveness. Race to the Top Phase 3 Participants Districts and Charters Will use RTT3 funds to participate in grant activities e.g., participate in training on teacher and principal evaluations Pennsylvania’s Intermediate Units Will use RTT3 funds to extend existing services e.g., Building Capacity, Statewide System of Support Similar to the current service delivery model for Title 3 Pennsylvania Department of Education Will use RTT3 funds to build capacity e.g., upgrade PIMS, PVASS, Report Card, Educator Dashboard, Evaluations RTT3 – Who
