  1. INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING

  2. 5WSS Installation • Hanging the Unit • Location Considerations • Refrigerant Piping • Water Piping • Cleaning & Flushing System

  3. Hanging the Unit

  4. Hanging the Unit • Recommend to use Rubber isolator on the brackets to reduce noise and vibration transmissions

  5. Location Considerations 1. Provide recommended service clearance to assure easy access for: • Water piping • Electrical connections • Periodic maintenance and occasional service 2.Recommended location (sound emission is outside the occupied space): • Corridor • Bathroom • Special Room for Air-Conditioning Unit

  6. Refrigerant Piping Three major things to be concerned: • Piping Length • Elevation • No. of bends Choose shortest path Follow the recommended data in the table (Installation Manual)

  7. Refrigerant Piping

  8. Refrigerant Piping Additional Charges for 5WSS unit • The pre-charged of R410A in the 5WSS unit is suitable for Standard pipe of length up to: • 2 meter for 5WSS10/15/20/25/30/40/50 AR • 5 meter for 5WSS60AR • When the piping is more than the standard pipe length, please add accordingly

  9. Water Piping

  10. Water Piping Water OUT Water IN • Males couplings, BSPP • no pipe insulation required

  11. Water Piping • Flexible hose • To ease water pipe installation • Steel reinforced PVC hose with 2 female BSPP couplings at the end. • Use O-rings provided to have a leak-proof joint Female couplings

  12. Water Piping Pressure gauge Water Outlet Balancing Valve Thermometer WSS Unit Strainer Water Inlet Flexible joint Automatic Shut-off Valve Gate Valve

  13. Cleaning and Flushing System System must be cleaned and flushed Individual supply and return pipes connected first Fill with water and open all air vents Close all air vents after filling Check all air vents in sequence to bleed off any trapped air Check piping leaking Drains at the lowest point open Water valves set to make up for the required flow rate Open all the drains and vents to complete drain down Short-circuited connection to the supply and return pipes removed

  14. Operating Range The operating range for EWT is 12°C to 45°C. Rated Conditions: Cooling Ambient (DB/WB) : 27°C/19°C Water IN: 30°C Water OUT: 35°C Heating: Ambient (DB) : 20°C Water IN: 20°C

  15. WH Installation • Hanging the Unit • Location of Hanging • Ductwork • Water Piping • Drainage • Cleaning & Flushing System

  16. Hanging the Unit Bolted to underside of ceiling slab Hanger threaded rods

  17. Hanging the Unit • Recommend to use vibration isolators on • the brackets to reduce noise and vibration • transmissions • Spring isolator to be used for better vibration • control. bracket PVC tube Upper washer, welded onto bracket spring nut bottom washer

  18. Hanging the Unit • Spring kit installation • - Insert the threaded rod through the bracket • - Insert the rod through the piece of soft PVC • plastic tube. The tube will go through the • mounting hole on the bracket • - Insert the spring over the plastic tube • - Screw in the bottom washer and locking nut

  19. Location of hanging Install at a location that gives sufficient space clearance for: • Hanging the unit • Installing and maintaining the water piping • Installing and maintaining the duct work • Accessing the unit’s internal parts via access panel • Removal of air filter for cleaning

  20. return air 800 mm air filter 1200 mm 500 mm access panel Service Access 800 mm supply air Dia. 23 Location of hanging

  21. Ductwork • Supply & Return • Use good acoustic lined ducts • Return air ducts are recommended where noise is critical • Make sure ducts are connected firmly to prevent air leakage

  22. FREE RETURN EXPOSED Supply duct WH unit Free return within the room diffusers Ductwork In general, there are 2 methods of applying the unit: 1. Ducted supply, free return (a) - The unit is left exposed within the room together with the supply ductwork

  23. FREE RETURN WITHIN CEILING supply duct WH unit return grille ceiling board diffusers Ductwork 1. Ducted supply, free return (b) - The unit is within the ceiling space acts as a return plenum.

  24. return duct supply duct WH unit return grille ceiling board diffusers Ductwork 2. Ducted supply, ducted return - Useful when noise attenuation is critical in the room

  25. Water Piping

  26. WH Unit Water Out Water In Water Piping • Males couplings • In general, no pipe insulation required

  27. Water Piping • Flexible hose • To ease water pipe installation • Steel reinforced PVC hose with 2 female BSP couplings at the end. • Use O-rings provided to have a leak-proof joint Female couplings

  28. Water Piping Pressure gauge Water Outlet Balancing Valve Thermometer WH Unit Strainer Water Inlet Flexible joint Automatic Shut-off Valve Gate Valve

  29. Drain pipe, ¾” U-Trap Slope downwards to the nearest drain (recommended 1:100) Drainage • Slanting drain pan design Slanting drain pan Drain • Drain pipe must be inclined at an angle to allow free drainage
