  3. Who is the course for? • S3 to S6 • Pupils looking to gain the wider ‘Scottish Studies’ award • Short Elective course in S4 • Timetable option ‘filler’ for S5/S6 • Flexible Learning Base students • Pupils with Additional / Behavioural Support Needs

  4. Broad aims of the course How accurate (truthful) is the representation of Scotland, and Scots, in film? What is the value of Scottish stereotypes in film? To what extent is Scotland portrayed as miserablist, or fantastical?

  10. Formal Assessment. • Students deliver a presentation that fulfils the success criteria stipulated by SQA. • The centre records the presentations as evidence. • Presentations are a useful skill that improves pupils’ communication and language skills.
