The mostrecent glacial period occured approximately 110.000 to 10.000 years ago. • In those years, there occurred several changes in the advance and reatreat of the ice. • Sometime, this period is referred as the “last ice age”, but this use is incorrect, because “glacial periods” are colder phases inside the ice age, that is longer. Whatwas “thelast glacial period”??

  3. Whatwerethe causes ofthisGlacial Period?? • The scientistsdon´tknowwhatisthe real causes, buttheaccept cause oftheice age isthe solar radiation, thevariations in theintensity and heatingofthesun over ourplanet.

  4. The Bering StraitTheory • The ice age hinderedthewatercicle, becausethewaterevaporated, and it didn´tturnedtorain, buttosnow. In thisway, thewaterdidn´tgetbacktotheocean, that´swhythewater volume lowered. • Withthisfact, the ice age support a theoryofthebegginingofthepopulation in America, becauseoftheoceandecreases. Thistheoryisthemostaccepted in the world, and it iscalled “The Bering StraitTheory”. It indicatesthatthehomo sapiens walkedthroughAfrica, Asiaandthe Bering Strait. ButBeforethe Ice Age, it wasunderwater, and ir appearedwhenthewaterlowered, makingpossiblethepassageofhumans.
