Cabinet Sizes • Counter Top Height-36” • -Countertop=1 ½”Body Height=34 ½” • Wall cabinets=30” • Vanities=31” • Cabinets over Refrigerators=12” • -our cabinet depth=12” • Base cabinets=24” deep • Vanities=21” deep
What Size Is Our Cabinet? • Cabinet Sizes are just like everything in construction-first number is the width-second number is the height. • Example-W3036 • -------this cabinet is 30” wide • -------this cabinet is 36” tall • -------”W” is abbreviation for type of cabinet-”W” means Wall cabinet-see handout for all abbreviations
More Cabinet Info • Corner Wall Cabinet=Lazy Susan • Kitchen Plan should be a Triangle shape.
Cabinet Construction • Face Frame components=Stiles and Rails • Overlay for doors and drawers=1/2” • “Wood Stock”=name given to stock we manufacture into our pieces for our cabinet. • Toe Kick measurement=3” X 3” • Face Frame and body will be flush if exposed to the naked eye. Cabinets that butt into other cabinets, the face frame will overlay ¼”.
More Cabinet Const. • Drawers will be built to 1” less than the opening of the face frame. • We use a Dowel Jig or Kreg Jig to put together our face-frame. • Engrave the steps of making stock for cabinet making.
