  2. Whichenergyis known as non- renewableenergy !! Energy obtained from sources that cannot be renewed are fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas, ifthesesourcesareusedtoomuchthey will run out which is exactly what is happening today. If we think energy is a source for living then we should own them or afford to buy them. when we browse the causes of the wars, we see the main reason is to own the energy sources. Soforthisreason we have 2 options– weeitherfind a new energy resource or use the fossil fuels slower than we are now.

  3. What is RenewableEnergy !! Renewable energy is an energythat comes from resources which are continually replenished suchassunlight, wind, rain, waves, tidesand geothermalheat. Today many of the universities and private companies are trying to impose their knowledge on this particular subject to overcome the facts that humans had to face at the end.

  4. Place on Earth..

  5. Isparta province and region, due to the Mediterranean climate zone, are very lucky in terms of renewable energy sources such as biomass and solar energy. Forthisreason Süleyman Demirel University’sResearchandapplicationCentreforRenewableEnergyResourceswasfoundtodeterminetherenewableenergypotentialfirstly in ourregion.Research for developing technologies to utilize the renewable energies of this region and all country is themainobject of ourcentre.

  6. OurmainObjectivesandsocialresponsibilities • Is todeterminethe potential of renewable and clean energy sources in the region and across the country. • Bythe use of these sources wemakeresearchanddevelopmentsforapplication of cleanenergy production technologies. • Develop an interdisciplinary collaboration of researchers in the university for the purpose of technology development. • To teach the students research and development methods and to gain awareness. • Tocreateenergypoliciesboth in nationalandinternationallevel.

  7. OurProjects In order to sustain social responsibility and correlation with our students and academic staff we put forth some projects since the beginning.

  8. One of them is ;Solar EnergyResearch

  9. Why solar energy is important ? • Before you can understand why solar energy is important you should have a good idea of what solar energy is. Solar energy is produced by the sun. It can be harnessed like any other type of energy and used to create electricity to run homes and businesses. Buildings can also be heated by the thermal energy produced by the sun. Best of all, solar energy is free and does not compromise the environment. • If you have ever gotten in a warm car on a sunny winter day, you have experienced the thermal energy of the sun. The sun's rays move through the glass of the car and warm the interior, although it may be quite chilly outside. Likewise, some people have actually baked cookies on the dashboard of their car on hot summer days. Again, thermal energy is being used. • In order to harness the energy from the sun and turn it into electricity, it is necessary to have solar cells to collect and transform solar energyinto useable electricity. These cells are typically in the form of panels that face the direction of the sun to capture the most rays possible.

  10. Theotherone is; Solar Chimney • Thepurpose of building solar chimney is tosupply hot air.

  11. Solar Chimey can be designedforhouses…!!

  12. Why is it important ? A Solar chimney can serve many purposes. • Direct gain warms air inside the chimney causing it to rise out the top and drawing air in from the bottom. (This drawing of air can be used to ventilate a home or office, to draw air through a geothermal heat exchange, or to ventilate only a specific area such as a composting toilet.) • Natural ventilation can be created by providing vents in the upper level of a building to allow warm air to rise byconventionand escape to the outside. At the same time cooler air can be drawn in through vents at the lower level. Trees may be planted on that side of the building to provide shade for cooler outside air.

  13. Andthenextone is;Solar towercontrolsystems • Purpose of building a solar tower is tosuppyelectricpower.

  14. High power During the last few years, considerable research efforts have been directed at Institutions towards development of high-concentration, high-temperature solar energy systems. This included optical methods and devices, thermal receivers for solar thermal electricity generation, and thermo-chemical processes for solar energy storage and solar fuel production. Some of these efforts are now mature enough for transfer to industry, and programs are starting to affect the transfer and upscale the new technologies to commercial levels.

  15. Sustainable transport… Development of high-concentration and high-temperature solar energy systems causes to develop electric motors for hybrid vehiclessuch as; • Twowheeledandcycle-typevehicles. • Heavyvehicles • Rail transport • Ships • Aircrafts

  16. Theforthone is;CleanEnergyHouses The main objective of this project, is to maintain sustainability of more livable homes by Providing cleannessand greenness.

  17. Renewableenergyforyourhomeandproperty…!! • Generateyourownenergy A direct way of using renewable energy is to install renewable energy generating equipment like solar panels or small wind turbines • Design forrenewableenergy When building a new home or remodeling an existing one, pay attention to details such as passive solar design (taking advantage of the sun's ability to heat the house in winter simply by proper house orientation and window sizing), roof overhangs (which can be designed to keep the sunlight out in summer and let it shine in during the winter), daylighting (allowing the sun to provide much of the home's lighting needs during the day). • Makethemost of sun andthewind. For example, we can reduce our reliance on electricity and other fuels by trying our hand at solar cooking, drying our clothes outside, even using the sun's energy to make tea! • Buy greenpower Ifyou have a choice of electricity providers, choose a provider that emphasizes their commitment to renewable energy. • Makeyourhomeenergyefficient. One of the most important benefits of renewable energy is that it generates electricity with little or no pollution. We can also reduce pollution by simply reducing our own energy requirements by conserving energy and making our homes more efficient. Examples of energy conservation measures are turning the lights off when we leave the room and installing programmable thermostats so we don't unnecessarily heat or cool our homes while we're not there.

  18. WindEnergy

  19. Hot springs & GeothermalEnergy Geothermal energy is a type of renewable energy that encourages conservation of natural resources. According to the environmentalprotectionagency,geo-exchangesystems save homeowners 30–70 percent in heating costs, and 20–50 percent in cooling costs, compared to conventional systems.

  20. Districtheating Turkey is a richcountrywith hot springs, thetownknown as SANDIKLI which is neartoourhometown has a systemcalledteleheatingordistrictheatingfor distributing heat generated in a centralized location for residential and commercial heating requirements such as spaceheatingand waterheating. The heat is often obtained from a cogenerationplant burning fossil fuels but increasingly biomass, although heat-onlyboilerstations, geothermalheatingand central solar heatingare also used.

  21. Conclusion As youhavenowyourflagsandcountries I will ask youto Determine your place in the world THINK + PLAN + DECIDE + CHOOSE + APPLY ( With 5main reasons ) Themostsuitablerenewableenergysource. Using sun light - Using wind - Using rain - Using waves - Using tides - Using geothermalheat
