    2. Renewable Energy Resources • Renewable resources- a resource that is constantly being supplied. • Examples: Solar Energy (Solar panels, light and heat) Wind Energy (Wind Farms) Flowing Water (Dams)

    3. Other Renewable Resources Biomass- Fuel made from living things (leaves, grass, food, waste etc…) Tidal Energy (Tidal Plants) Trees Geothermal- Harness the Earth’s heat Other future energies- hydrogen, self-fueling cars, fission and fusion.

    4. Non-renewable EnergyResources • A non-renewable resourceis one that cannot be reproduced in order to maintain it’s current level. Examples Burning of fossil fuels- coal, petroleum, natural gas *** Once you use these…they will not come back for millions of years*** Nuclear

    5. Your Assignment • You will look through sections 6-1 and 6-2 to find the following information: • 1. Create 2 T-charts and put down 4 of the following for both renewable and non-renewable resources: Advantages Disadvantages 2. RAP the following question: “If you could pick one renewable energy that you think would work the best in the future…which one would it be and why?
