  2. Who or what is the ION? • A network of organizations to help make God’s Word available to all oral learners in culturally appropriate ways that enable church planting movements everywhere.

  3. oral learner or oral communicator 1.Someone who cannot read or write. 2.Someone whose most effective communication and learning format, style, or method is in accordance with oral formats, as contrasted to literate formats. 3.Someone who prefers to learn or process information by oral rather than written means. (These are literate people whose preferred communication style is oral rather than literate, even though they can read.)

  4. Who or what is the ION? World Population >70% Oral Yet <10% of all Ministry Tools are specifically addressing the needs of oral learners

  5. Who or what is the ION? • “Our modern missions efforts have been primarily focused on trying to communicate our message to unreached people in ways that make sense to us – instead of in ways that make sense to them!” • (September 2005 ION Conference Attendee)

What can the ION do for you? • The remaining Unreached People Groups are predominantly oral societies • ION can help you engage in relevant and effective ministry reaching and serving these oral learners • ION’s added value to you is in providing bridges to the oral learners through the ION resources, consultants, workshops and world wide conferences
