  2. Member of the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi As a member of the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi, Lisa Brooks Abenaki is passionate about Indigenous rights, land reclamation, and uncovering history.

  3. EnglishTeacher Lisa Brooks (Abenaki) is a professor at Amherst College, teaching English and American studies. She loves to engage with students and give lectures, and she does so both inside and outside of the classroom.

  4. ALifelong Learner As a lifelong learner and lover of the land, Lisa Brooks (Abenaki) has accomplished a lot already in her life. She is a Guggenheim Fellow, and her book, Our Beloved Kin: A New History of King Philip’s War, won the Bancroft Prize for American History and Diplomacy.
