  1. Goytre Fawr Primary School Design colourful mosaics to brighten up our school reception area

  2. How it all began…… As part of our Community Focused Schools Grant we decided to brighten up the front of our school with a series of mosaics. Working in small groups we gave the children different size ‘tiles’ to design which fitted exactly into the boards. To incorporate the words ‘Goytre Fawr School’ we decided to create three mosaics. Using an inverse operation the children’s designs could be transferred upside down onto brown paper then flipped over into adhesive at a later stage. Once pieced together we grouted and polished the mosaics. The whole school was involved in this project so we hope you will enjoy studying the children’s artwork.   5. Year 1 – Animal Prints • Following a trip to the zoo the children designed animal prints

  6. Year 2 – Patterns and Flowers

  7. Year 3 – Designs Influenced by Aspects of Goytre

  8. Year 5 & 6 – Based Around All Things Welsh
