haiku Haikus have been around for as log as anyone can remember. This picture is a picture of a Japanese haiku. Haikus start with a line of 5 syllables. The next line has 7 syllables. And the last line has 5 syllables.
acrostic Acrostic poems are where you have a word going vertical and you add words that mean the word going vertically.
cinquain A cinquain poem is were at the first line you put a word, then you put 2 adjectives of that word on the next line. Then the next line you put 3-ing words describing the word. Then you put a word or phrase meaning a synonym of the first word. Then the last line you put a synonym of the word in the beginning.
couplets Couplets are poems that rhyme. They have two lines.
limerick Limericks are poems where the first 2 lines rhyme. And the next 2 lines rhyme. And the last line rhymes with the first 2 lines.
