  2. WHAT THIS LESSON IS ABOUT: The focused activities of transformational churches build the kingdom of God by making disciples. HOW THIS LESSON CAN IMPACT YOUR LIFE: This lesson will help to refocus on building God’s kingdom through building disciples. WHY THIS LESSON IS IMPORTANT: Churches can spin their wheels on unimportant activities. Focusing on the good, too often we miss out on what is actually the best. Churches need to focus on building God’s kingdom through building disciples.

  3. AN INSPIRING EXAMPLE: In 1935, Bill Wallace sailed to China. A talented surgeon, he chose missions over prestige and prosperity in America. Why? A Tennessee Baptist church nurtured him, and the Holy Spirit touched him. After 16 years of service in China as a faithful witness for Christ, he entered the kingdom of God from China as a martyr. Chinese Christians, other missionaries whom he inspired, the Lord Jesus, and Bill himself will forever be glad he answered God’s call to build the kingdom! We also ought to forever be thankful for Bill Wallace’s sterling example of sacrifice and service. THE LIFE WORD: How can we engage in kingdom building? We can go where God sends and minister there; and we can minister right where we already live. We grow people through teaching. We need to invest in people beyond evangelism by teaching and encouraging them in God’s Word. Also, we can connect to the kingdom, and thus help to spread it, by sharing the work with others and talking frequently about what God is doing. True accounts of God’s activity give credit to Him who is at work through us and encourage others to trust God to work through them! Remember, this isn’t merely an individual endeavor; it’s a church effort. BE INVOLVED!!!!
