Arizona Caregiver Coalition (Formed in 2008 after almost two years of preparation) • Advocacy and collaborative need were seeds • Catalysts to ACC Formation • Success of Central Arizona Kinship Care Coalition • Advocacy to establish LRCN – locally and nationally • Coalition component written into federal act • Engaged FCSP coordinator • Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging

Arizona Caregiver CoalitionFormation Strategy • GACA/SHAC • Governors Advisory Council on Aging / Social, Health, and Alzheimer’s Committee sub-committee setup to explore creation of a caregiver coalition to advocate for family caregivers and collaboratively seek resources for support services • Caregiver Rally on Capitol Lawn – March 2008 • Formation Gathering (first official meeting) • Pre-conference intensive to the 2008 Governor’s Conference on Aging
